Ingredients

  • 14 ritz crackers
  • 0.5 dl butter melted
  • 0.5 dl brown sugar
  • candy canes optional topping

Instructions

  • Preheat the oven to 120 C.
  • Spread the crackers out in a non stick oven proof form. My form was about 17×17 cm.
  • In a small saucepan over medium heat, add melted butter and brown sugar. Bring to a boil, then reduce the heat to medium low and continue to boil for 5 min.
  • Quickly pour the caramel over the crackers and spread to cover completely. The caramel will harden fast, so you have to be quick.
  • Bake for 5 min in the oven.
  • Remove from the oven and immediately sprinkle the chocolate chips on top.
  • Bake for 1 min to help the chocolate melt.
  • Remove from the oven and spread out the melted chocolate chips to cover completely.
  • Top with any additional toppings if desired. For instance crushed candy canes, sea salt, crushed nuts …
  • Let harden in the fridge for about 2 h.
  • Break into pieces and enjoy!
