Christmas Crackers
Ingredients
- 14 ritz crackers
- 0.5 dl butter melted
- 0.5 dl brown sugar
- candy canes optional topping
Instructions
- Preheat the oven to 120 C.
- Spread the crackers out in a non stick oven proof form. My form was about 17×17 cm.
- In a small saucepan over medium heat, add melted butter and brown sugar. Bring to a boil, then reduce the heat to medium low and continue to boil for 5 min.
- Quickly pour the caramel over the crackers and spread to cover completely. The caramel will harden fast, so you have to be quick.
- Bake for 5 min in the oven.
- Remove from the oven and immediately sprinkle the chocolate chips on top.
- Bake for 1 min to help the chocolate melt.
- Remove from the oven and spread out the melted chocolate chips to cover completely.
- Top with any additional toppings if desired. For instance crushed candy canes, sea salt, crushed nuts …
- Let harden in the fridge for about 2 h.
- Break into pieces and enjoy!
