Baked Oats has become a very trendy breakfast the recent years. If you try it, you will understand why. But did you know you can make baked oats in the air fryer and save 15 minutes? Well, YES YOU CAN. This recipe turns the beloved carrot cake into a wholesome breakfast option.

Ingredients

Baked Oats

  • 0.75 dl oats 30 g
  • 0.5 dl milk 50 g
  • 0.5 dl carrot finely grated
  • 2 tbsp walnuts chopped
  • 1 tbsp raisins
  • 1 tbsp plain thick yoghurt
  • 0.5 tsp cinnamon
  • 0.5 tsp baking powder
  • 2 tsp maple syrup
  • a pinch of salt

Cream Cheese "Frosting"

  • 0.5 tbsp cream cheese
  • 0.5 tbsp milk
  • 1 tsp maple syrup

Instructions

  • In a bowl combine oats, milk, finely grated carrot, chopped walnuts, raisins, yoghurt, cinnamon, baking powder, maple syrup and salt.
  • Transfer the batter into a ramekin and air fry at 170C/338F for about 15 minutes.
  • Meanwhile make the cream cheese frosting by mixing together cream cheese, milk and maple syrup.
  • Once the baked oats are done, pour the frosting on top and garnish with som more cinnamon and chopped walnuts.
  • Enjoy!

Notes

  • If you dislike the texture of oats, you can mix the batter using a blender. However, if you decide to do so, I recommend adding the carrots, walnuts and raising AFTER blending.  
  • If you do not own an air fryer, you can bake it in the oven at 180C/355 for about 25 minutes and get the same result!
