Ingredients

  • 500 g beef thinly sliced
  • 1 clove of garlic minced
  • 1.5 tbsp soy sauce
  • 1.5 tbsp honey
  • 1 tbsp hoisin sauce
  • 1 tbsp ketchup
  • rapeseed oil
  • 1 long baguette

Other filling

  • mayonnaise
  • cucumber sliced
  • pickled daikon and carrot

Instructions

  • Thinly slice beef.
  • In a bowl, mix together minced garlic, soy sauce, honey, hoisin sauce and ketchup. Add the meat and make sure all the meat is coated with marinate.
    Optional but recommended: Let the meat marinate in the fridge for at least 30 min.
  • Slice cucumber.
  • Divide the baguette into four equal pieces and cut them open.
  • Heat some rapeseed oil in a pan over high heat. When the oil is hot, add the meet and cook until cooked though.
  • Let's build the banh mi! Spread a thick layer of mayonnaise on the bottom, then place a few cucumbers on the mayo, then the marinated beef and the pickled daikon and carrot.
  • Enjoy!
