Beef Banh Mi
Ingredients
- 500 g beef thinly sliced
- 1 clove of garlic minced
- 1.5 tbsp soy sauce
- 1.5 tbsp honey
- 1 tbsp hoisin sauce
- 1 tbsp ketchup
- rapeseed oil
- 1 long baguette
Other filling
- mayonnaise
- cucumber sliced
- pickled daikon and carrot
Instructions
- Thinly slice beef.
- In a bowl, mix together minced garlic, soy sauce, honey, hoisin sauce and ketchup. Add the meat and make sure all the meat is coated with marinate. Optional but recommended: Let the meat marinate in the fridge for at least 30 min.
- Slice cucumber.
- Divide the baguette into four equal pieces and cut them open.
- Heat some rapeseed oil in a pan over high heat. When the oil is hot, add the meet and cook until cooked though.
- Let's build the banh mi! Spread a thick layer of mayonnaise on the bottom, then place a few cucumbers on the mayo, then the marinated beef and the pickled daikon and carrot.
