Ingredients

Tofu

  • 100 g tofu as firm as possible
  • corn starch

Sauce

  • 1 tbsp water
  • 0.5 tbsp soy sauce
  • 0.5 tbsp mirin
  • 0.5 tsp gochujang
  • 0.5 tsp sesame oil
  • 0.5 tsp honey
  • 1 ml ginger grated
  • 1 ml garlic grated
  • 0.5 tbsp green onion sliced

Instructions

  • Cut tofu into 1.5 cm cubes.
  • Coat the tofu in cornstarch.
  • Air fry tofu, 200 C 25 min. Shake the basket every 5 min.
  • Meanwhile mix the sauce in a bowl. Water, soy sauce, mirin, gochujang, sesame oil, honey, grated ginger, grated garlic and sliced green onion.
  • Heat the sauce up in a pan.
  • Add the tofu and coat them in sauce.
  • Serve these chewy spicy tofu with some Japanese rice and maybe a salad?
    I wrapped rice and tofu in lettuce and squeezed some kewpie mayonnaise on top! It was delicious.
