Homemade Crackers
Ingredients
- 90 g all purpose flour
- 0.5 tsp sugar
- 0.5 tsp salt
- 2 tsp olive oil
- 60 g water
- optional topping
Instructions
- Preheat the oven to 230 C.
- Mix together the dry ingredients, flour, sugar and salt, in a bowl.
- Add oil and water and stir until a soft and sticky dough is formed.
- Transfer the dough onto a lightly floured surface and shape the dough into a beautiful smooth dough.
- Using a rolling pin, flatten the dough until about 3-4 mm thick. If the dough starts to shrink back as you roll it, let it rest for a few min and then continue rolling.
- Sprinkle dough with topping (optional), and give it another roll to press the toppings into the dough.
- Cut the dough into cracker-sized rectangles using a pizza cutter or a sharp knife and place them on a baking sheet.
- Prick each cracker with a fork a few times to prevent them from puffing during baking.
- Bake for about 12 min or until lightly browned on the edges. I baked mine a little too long.
- Transfer the baked crackers to a wire rack to cool completely.
- Enjoy the crackers with some cheese or hummus.
