Homemade Gnocchi for one

Ingredients

  • 2 potatoes about 160 g in total
  • 4 tbsp flour might need more if dough is too sticky
  • 1 egg yolk
  • 1 pinch of salt
  • 1 tbsp butter

Instructions

  • Boil potatoes until tender.

  • Remove the skin from the potatoes, and them mash the potatoes.
  • Add egg yolk, flour and salt and combine it into a soft dough. If the dough is too sticky, add some more flour.

  • On a lightly floured surface, roll the dough to form ropes.
  • Cut the dough into 2 cm pieces and then slide the pieces on a fork to create the lines.
  • Sprinkle some flour on the gnocchi to avoid them stick together.
  • Boil water to cook the gnocchi. Don't forget to add some salt.
  • Cook the gnocchi until they float to the surface.
  • Remove the gnocchi from the water.
  • Melt butter in a medium hot pan.
    1 tbsp butter
  • Fry the gnocchi until they have gotten some nice color on all sides.
  • Serve your homemade gnocchi with whatever pasta sauce you prefer!
