Carrot Bread Buns
Ingredients
- 0.75 dl carrot finely grated
- 1 dl water
- 0.5 dl milk
- 12 g fresh yeast
- 1 tsp olive oil
- 3.5 dl all purpose flour
- 0.5 tsp salt
Instructions
- Peel and finely grate carrots.
- Heat up the liquid to room temperature, about 37 C.
- In a mixing bowl, add the liquid, fresh yeast, olive oil and carrots and stir until the yeast has dissolved.
- Add flour and knead with a machine for about 6 min
- Add salt and knead with a machine for about 4 min.
- Cover the bowl and let the dough rest for about 40 min.
- Preheat the oven to 250 C.
- Transfer the dough to a lightly floured surface and divide the dough into 4 equal pieces. Roll them into balls and flatten them out a little.
- Place the buns on a baking sheet, cover and let rest for 30 min.
- Bake in the middle of the oven for about 14-15 min.
- Remove buns from oven, cover the buns with a kitchen towel and let them cool completely. This step is very important!!
- Enjoy the buns with optional toppings!
I used the carrot bread and made a sandwich with cream cheese, smoked salmon, cucumber and kale chips!
