In Sweden, we have a pastry called Semla. This oatmeal is inspired by that pastry.

Ingredients

  • 1 dl oats
  • 2 dl water
  • 0.5 ml cardamom
  • a pinch of salt

Mandelmassa

  • 1 tbsp almond flour
  • 1 date remove pit
  • 0.5 tbsp warm

Other toppings

  • milk frothed
  • almonds chopped
  • maple syrup
  • cardamom

Instructions

  • Into a bowl, add oats, water, cardamom and salt. Microwave for 30 seconds, then give it a stir. Repeat until thickened to your liking
  • Using a mortal, mash together almond flour, date and water into a paste. This is the “mandelmassa”.
  • Chop some almonds and froth some milk.
  • Transfer the oatmeal to your favourite bowl and top it with the frothed milk, maple syrup, the “mandelmassa” and chopped almonds.
  • Enjoy!!
